Young people

Getting outdoors is such a huge part of our sport. I’m committed to ensuring the transition from indoors is as easy as possible… for parents too, who are new to climbing. Climbing outside can be perfectly safe, when you know the systems, how to use your equipment and make good judgements such as which crags to visit and which routes to try.

I run a series of youth sport and trad courses in the Peak District, which are advertised on the BMC website for 11-17 year olds.

You don't need to have any outdoor experience to come on the courses but ideally you will have some indoor experience.

If you want to book either individually, as a group or family and you already climb a certain level or want to start pushing harder grades I can arrange days and suitable crags, which will be just right for you... Either a parent needs to be present or I can also arrange to work under Thornbridge Outdoors’ AALA license.
